- Bodycam Map indexes police body-cam footage from dozens of public YouTube channels. We do not host the videos ourselves — we link to YouTube and provide a searchable map, transcript, and tag interface on top.
- How are videos placed on the map?
- A multi-layer pipeline assigns each video a location: known law-enforcement agencies are matched first, then city/state names are extracted from titles, descriptions, and transcripts using regex, NER, and an LLM fallback. Pins use US city and county centroids.
- Can I filter by incident type or outcome?
- Yes. Every video is auto-tagged across categories like incident type, outcome, equipment, and setting. Free users can apply one tag at a time; Pro users can combine multiple tags and a date range.
- Is there a transcript for each video?
- Yes — transcripts are generated automatically with AI and indexed for search, so you can find specific moments or keywords across thousands of hours of footage.
- How much does it cost?
- Bodycam Map is free with ads. Pro plans remove ads and unlock advanced filtering and data export. Contributors who tag or submit videos earn points that convert into free months of Pro.
- What platforms is it available on?
- Bodycam Map runs in any modern browser and is installable as a Progressive Web App. Native iOS and Android apps are in development, with D-pad navigation support for Android TV and Fire TV.
